Caolino Agri is a plant strengthener, meaning it serves to boost plant defences, and is allowed to be used in organic farming. Chemically inert, it provides effective prevention against numerous agronomic problems; it’s useful for improving a plant’s resistance to stress, whilst fully respecting the environment.

When sprayed onto leaves and fruits, it dries to leave a uniform, white film of mineral particles which does not interfere with the plant’s gas exchange. This creates an effective protective barrier against attack from phytophagous insects and fungi. It counteracts the feeding and egg-laying activities of numerous insects, which no longer recognize the plant as a host. It protects against water stress by reducing transpiration and strengthening tissues. It helps block ultraviolet and infrared rays, thus reducing damage caused by the sunlight, and limiting heat stress. Caolin Agri-rock dust is registered on the approved product lists the Agrios Alto Adige and Südtiroler Beratungsring fruit-grower associations. It’s also included as a plant fortifier in the Italian Input List (FiBL+ FederBio), a public register that lists the products that can be used by certified organic farmers in Italy.
